Hello my readers, Hello friends, Hello Cybermonsters!
Today, lets talk about my face. *Giggles*
Just joking.
But seriously.

Mind my flyaways. I haven’t photoshop’d my face or makeup. I wish I knew how to use photoshop. However, I worship the genetics I inherited, I’m not on about beauty or anything like that but great skin has been passed down generations of my family. My Great Grandma had absolutely beautiful skin right up to her last days. My mum, Aunty & Grandma also have inherited it and I’m happy to say that I think I have too. The only difference is that I have eczema so mine is a little more fragile than theres is but I can deal with that. There’s not really any products that I’ve found irritate my skin, as such, however I know two things 1) It hates wool. And any of it’s relatives. B) It doesn’t like “heavy” creams. Usually, the thick textured moisturisers are the worst because they’re full of chemicals. Skin no like.
So what do I use on my skin? Like every gal I get breakouts so as soon as I feel that tingle of irritation I reach for my ZIT ZAPPER. “Oh how desirable! She has a zit zapper!” Yes. I use the Elf Zit Zapper, £1.50 to prolong any explosions on my face. Tea Tree Oil is the main ingredient that does this so it’s not that it’s some miracle formular because it isn’t. Anything with Tea Tree in is a great base point for fighting skin crime. I really like Elf, I think you have to “pick and choose” with there products. Some are great. Some are NOT great. I’d recommend watching reviews on Youtube, ordering a few and trying them out for yourself. Everything starts from like £1.00 so you’ve not really got much to lose!

Unfortunately, the rest of the products in my daily skin care aren’t so cheap…
I believe in using several products of the same range when treating your skin day in day out. I’m a FIRM believer in this. In fact…it’s probably my religion. So which religious cult am I in? Chanel. It’s not the crowd I follow, I’m not influenced by anything or anyone. At about 14 years old I found Chanel moisturisers. One of my most expensive purchases. And why? Because I realised that I had good skin at an early age and I wanted to treasure it. (I still sleep in my make-up from time to time though, a girl ain’t perfect!) That was about 6 years ago however, I think it was a simular formular to the current Chanel Hydramax. Last year when I wanted to start making a real investment into my skin I revisited my local Chanel counter and spoke to a professional. After a few month’s of saving and slowly collecting, one by one, I now have a full skin care routine by Chanel.
Just in case I stay at my Mum’s house and I don’t take anything with me, which believe me happens more often than not, I have a back-up Chanel facewash at her house! This is partly so I don’t use it all the time but it’s a gorgeous product. It’s a foam wash but with exfoliating properties so there’s no microbeads or anything like that but it just exfoliates through all of the purifying qualities, which I find overpowering to use every single day. Hence why I don’t have it at home with me. I know if it was in reach I’d use it all the time because Foam face washes are so easy to use and you feel so refreshed after every use! It’s also another great product for keeping spots and oily spoil-y skin at bay! A 150ml bottle is £29 but I’ve used mine loads since I brought it a year ago, and I know my sister has too so you definitely get your moneys’ worth!
MOUSSE EXFOLIANTE PURETE Rinse Off, Exfoliating, Cleansing Foam – Purity + Anti-Pollution

When at home -Home Home Home- I start my routine with a lovely little cleanser I like to call “My New Friend”. It’s my new friend because after months of trying different cleaners I found that none of them like my skin and my skin just wants to be friends with Chanel. Therefore, I have invested in yet another product of theres. This will sound gross but when I’m taking my make-up off I like to see the grime.
I like to see the grime? What am I?
Let’s bypass that.
To conclude. I went for a cleansing milk. It’s in a pump bottle which is useful because you have much more control over how much you get on your cotton pad. Then you have the option as to whether to use it on it’s own or with water. I use it on it’s own but in the summer I may opt to use it with water just so I get a more refreshing feel. For 150ml bottle it was £27 but it’s oh so gentle. None of that draining crap you get with face wipes. Your cleanser is crucial because you need to make sure your getting rid of the crap on your face so that you can moisturise it. You don’t want to moisturise dirt into your beautiful face do you? As I said before, I’ve only just got this beaut so there’s still time for it all to go wrong….
Side note: They do another product called Lait Confort which is very much the same but is more about comfort rather than balance. I’m not entirely sure of the specific difference? Google it
LAIT DOUCEUR Cleansing Milk, Balance + Anti-pollution for Face & Eyes
These are the cleansers I’ve tried & tested:
- Topshop Facial Cleansing Wipes £2.50
A great product for getting rid of oiliness but for me they remove “too” much. I found my skin feeling drained, like I was removing too much just from cleansing. They smell gorgeous though!
- Garnier Soft Essentials Complete Cleansing Milk £3.01
Another great scented product, unfortunately this product was so rich I could hardly touch it! Another “heavy” product.
- Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Wipes £3.20
Simple are a brand I go back to time and time again and I just think they are too simple. Ironic, I know. They dry out in the packaging really quickly and they seem to not actually remove the gritty bits of dirt that are hard to remove like liquid eye liner.
- Simple Oil Balancing Wipes £3.20
As above, however, I don’t really like the smell of these ones either.
- No7 Quick Thinking 4 in 1 Wipes £7.00
I didn’t repurchase. Enough said.
This is to name a few. I’ve also tried cleansing products from Botanics, Nivea, Johnson’s & Neutrogena.
Next up is my toner! Oh boy does it tone! It removes the best of the best. It’s also another great spot buster. I don’t worry about breakouts anymore because this is my go to product every time. Again it’s about £27 a bottle. If you shop at Boots you can save your loyalty points and use them for a few products instead of forking out loads of money! It’s a great formular for restoring balance and according to Chanel “protects the skins ecosystem”.
LOTION DOUCER Gentle Hydrating Toner, Balance + Anti-pollution
Every now and again I use a face scrub and for that I turn to GOMMAGE MICROPERLE ECLAT Maximum Radiance Exfoliating Gel. Its so gentle for a face scrub and is about £32. It’s going to seem extremely expensive for saying I don’t really have much to say about it. It’s not life changing but I like it.
The cheapest and most used product by far is my eye make-up remover. At £21 for 100ml I would say….YOU NEED THIS. You could put the strongest water-proof mascara on and it would remove it but not in a “chemical-way” in a “water-way”. That’s the definition of gentle. Right there. It’s so sensitive and I don’t believe in using too many creams under your eyes because it can add to baggage but this is perfect to avoid that! You know when you under eyes get really dehydrated and your make-up sticks to your skin can gives you a cakey-scale-like look even though you’ve used oil-based concealers or a primer? Well this make-up remover is made of two parts. The upper part is full of cleansing oils and the lower is rose and cornflower oils which combine to not only removed the toughest of make-up but it also hydrates the most tender part of your face and keeps in the in the most beautiful condition. So much so that I’ve just repurchased this item…I NEVER REPURCHASE! I never get the chance to because I never like a product enough! Worth every penny you are my beautiful Demaquillant Yeux Intense youuuuu!

AND THE GRAND FINALEEEEEE!
Which is….
Dun. Dun. Dunnnnnnnnnn.
My beautiful beautiful beautiful:

BEAUTE INITIALE Multi-protection, SPF15 moisturiser
If you’re a regular reader, you’ll know that I lost his. I cried a little inside. My skin seriously had withdrawal symptoms. It’s just about recovered now. It protects your skin from every day skin damage – which is where signs of early ageing appears. It is also hydrating to the point where you still need to use it every day, so it doesn’t build up or make your skin oily. Moisturising your skin EVERY SINGLE DAY is crucial and it has to be done. No excuses. Now, this was about the £50 mark as all Chanel moisturisers are but you can use them every day and they do last a good few months.
Unfortunately, Chanel are finishing this line of products and are shifting about the ranges. I’m not 100% sure whats happening but I think all of the above products will still be available because they are still purchasable online at Boots & Chanel. My dear moisturiser is not available anywhere now, sadly. In a way it’s good because they are sort of combining it with the Hydramax which will actually be better for me. Oh French skincare, how you own my heart!
Writing this has really made me want to go on a spree now….
*serious face*
